Tetelestai (It Is Finished)

He asked His Father, “Will you take this cup away from me?”

But He knew the debt that must paid, as he prayed on bended knee.

As blood like beads of sweat flowed down the brow of God’s own Son

He prayed, “Not my will Father, but your Holy Will be done.

They led Him to Golgotha, and they nailed him to that tree

“Father please forgive them”, was His broken-hearted plea

As the time of our redemption came and darkness filled the sky

All the earth was shaken by the Son’s triumphant cry

Tetelestai, cried our Savior from the cross

Tetelestai, means salvation for the lost

Paid in full, the victr’y won,

The road complete, the battle done.

Let all the people hear the Savior’s cry,

Tetelestai

I see a world that’s hurting, spinning out of all control

Hatred, bigotry and strife are the products of their soul

Their factions cry for freedom; but in darkness remain lost

The freedom that they need cries out from a lonely Roman cross

Tetelestai, cried our Savior from the cross

Tetelestai, means salvation for the lost

Paid in full, the victr’y won,

The road complete, the battle done.

Let all the people hear the Savior’s cry…

Tetelestai, cried our Savior from the cross

Tetelestai, means salvation for the lost

Paid in full, the victr’y won,

The road complete, the battle done.

Let all the people hear,

Let all the nations hear,

Let all creation hear the Savior’s cry,

Tetelestai, Tetelestai, Tetelestai.
